OnlyFans suspended a planned ban on sexually explicit content after widespread backlash from its creator community, the company said. The reversal restores the platform’s allowance of explicit material and reflects responsiveness to creator concerns.
The company said it had reached agreements with banking and payment partners that resolved earlier operational challenges, enabling creators across genres — including adult entertainers, artists, fitness experts and musicians — to continue monetizing their work. OnlyFans described the step as protecting creators’ income streams and creative freedom.
OnlyFans also announced enhancements to safety and content moderation aimed at protecting users while preserving creator autonomy. The company said it will continue engaging with users and adapting policies based on community feedback, and will focus on transparency and trust as it develops new features.
The decision reassures existing creators and prospective users that the platform intends to remain a commercial venue for a wide range of digital content creators.
