OnlyFans announced Wednesday that it has reversed its decision to ban sexually explicit content, restoring support and revenue opportunities for its creator community.
The reversal follows widespread backlash from creators and came after the company secured assurances from banking partners that removed the financial constraints behind the proposed policy change.
Creators will be able to continue monetizing their work to the platform’s more than 120 million subscribers, a move that reassures sex workers and other adult-content producers that their incomes should remain stable and uninterrupted.
Many creators praised the swift reversal, noting the company’s recognition of the significant role adult content plays in its business model and in supporting livelihoods, particularly during the pandemic.
OnlyFans said it remains committed to evolving its content guidelines while sustaining a diverse creator ecosystem.
