OnlyFans has suspended plans to ban sexually explicit content that were scheduled to take effect on October 1, reversing an earlier announcement. The company said in a tweet that it will continue to allow explicit material on the platform.
OnlyFans said the reversal followed strong feedback from creators and users and assurances from its banking and financial partners that addressed prior compliance concerns. The company said creators can continue to monetize photos and videos and maintain direct access to their audiences.
OnlyFans said it will provide more detailed updates directly to creators and emphasized its commitment to balancing freedom of expression with safety and regulatory compliance while supporting creators’ livelihoods.
